S-EBT Program Announcement: Eligible Vermont School Children to Receive Financial Support for Summer Meals

May 29, 2024

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has approved Vermont’s Summer Electronic Benefit Transfer (SEBT) plan to help feed eligible school aged children during the summer vacation months. Vermont is among the first states to launch the new permanent SEBT program.

The Department for Children and Families (DCF) will be issuing a preloaded EBT card to those who don’t have one yet. Households where the school aged child is receiving 3SquaresVT benefits, their S-EBT will be loaded on the same card. The benefit is $120 for the summer per child. Families can use the benefits to purchase groceries. For additional information, including specific eligibility criteria, visit .
