Sutton School Upcoming Safety Drills: May 2025

May 6, 2025

Dear Sutton School Families,

Each month, our school practices safety drills to help ensure that students and staff know what to do in the event of different types of emergencies. These drills are an important part of keeping our school community safe and prepared.

This month we will be practicing a lockdown drill, evacuation drill, and a relocation drill. During the week of May 19th, students will participate in both an evacuation drill and a relocation drill. We do not share the specific day of the drills in advance in order to maintain the integrity of the practice and ensure everyone is responding as they would in a real situation.

For the relocation drill, students will practice leaving the school building and walking to our designated relocation site—the local church in town. This drill will take place at the end of the school day, and students will be dismissed directly from the church. Buses will pick up students from the church, and caregivers who typically pick up their children will do so from that location as well.

Families will receive a text and email notification on the day of the relocation drill, and additional information will be shared as we get closer to the date.

Thank you for your continued support in helping us keep our students safe and prepared.

Warm regards,

Rachel Robillard

Principal
