The Search Begins for the Next KESD Superintendent

ANNOUNCEMENT
The ÌÒÉ«ÊÓÆµ School District, serving the communities of Burke, Concord, Lyndon, Lunenburg, Newark, Sheffield, Sutton, and Wheelock, Vermont, is seeking an experienced administrator to lead the district’s seven PreK through Grade 8 schools with a total enrollment of 1050 students. High-school students exercise school choice. The majority of students attend one of the traditional independent schools, Lyndon Institute or St. Johnsbury Academy.
The district’s stated mission is to provide a collaborative and equitable environment of educational excellence through rigorous learning experiences that develop the individual and diverse talents and abilities of all students to prepare them for successful lives as contributing, responsible citizens.
THE KINGDOM EAST COMMUNITIES
The Towns of ÌÒÉ«ÊÓÆµ have a combined population of 14,000 and are located in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont. Located about 3 hours from Boston, Montreal, and Portland, ME, the region is known for breathtaking views and access to great skiing, hiking, mountain biking, fishing, canoeing, and other outdoor opportunities. The towns are close to the White Mountains of NH and the Green Mountains of VT. Both Littleton, NH, and St Johnsbury, VT have numerous fine and performing arts venues.
QUALIFICATION
The board seeks a visionary leader and student-centered strategic thinker who is systems-oriented and is a fiscally responsible problem solver with demonstrated experience engaging a school community to achieve the district’s vision and mission.

CREDENTIAL
Evidence of Vermont licensure as superintendent of schools or being appropriately licensed on or before the first day of employment
SEDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE
Advanced degree in administrative studies
Administrative experience
Classroom teaching experience preferred
POSITION TYPE: Full-time
SALARY RANGE: $155,000 - $195,000
TIMELINE
